Cabbage and Rice
CABBAGE AND RICE
3 cups cooked rice
1/2 head cabbage, finely chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped (white AND green part)
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 tiny bag almond slivers
1 stick oleo
1/4 cup olive oil
seasonings to taste:
salt and pepper
chopped parsley
Tony's seasoning
garlic powder
nutmeg
soy sauce
Melt together oleo and olive oil in large skillet or 4-6 quart pan. Add rice, onions and tomato.
After rice begins to brown, add seasonings, cabbage, and almonds. "Cook down" until all vegetables are tender. You may either serve then, or place in a covered casserole and keep in LOW oven until serving.
