Fried Apple Pies

FRIED APPLE PIES

APPLES
1 CUP WATER
1/3 CUP SUGAR
1 TABLESPOON BUTTER OR MARGARINE
1 CAN (10 OUNCES) REFRIGERATED FLAKY BISCUITS
VEGETABLE OIL FOR FRYING
 
COMBINE APPLES AND WATER IN A SAUCEPAN BRING TO A BOIL. COVER AND  REDUCE HEAT.  SIMMER FOR 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL TENDER.  REMOVE FROM HEAT AND LET COOL. 

MASH APPLES SLIGHTLY IF THEY ARE LARGE

STIR IN SUGAR AND BUTTER OR MARGARINE SET ASIDE

ROLL EACH BISCUIT INTO A 5 INCH CIRCLE ON A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE

PLACE ABOUT 2 TABLESPOONS  OF APPLE MIXTURE  ON HALF OF EACH BISCUIT CIRCLE

SEAL PIES by DIPPING YOUR FINGERS IN WATER AND MOISTEN EDGES OF BISCUIT CIRCLE
FOLD BISCUIT IN HALF MAKING SURE EDGES ARE EVEN

USING A FORK DIPPED IN FLOUR,  PRESS EDGES FIRMLY TOGETHER

POUR OIL TO DEPTH OF 1/2 INCH IN HEAVY SKILLET

FRY EACH SIDE 2 OR 3 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN

I FOUND THIS RECIPE ON THE INTERNET, BUT IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE WAY MOTHER USE TO  MAKE THEM.
